The Church is a place of Worship
The building is primarily a Christian Church and groups who wish to hire the rooms are asked to respect the area as a place of worship. The group leader will be responsible for ensuring that this requirement is met.
On occasion, funerals will be held in the church. Wherever possible these services will be arranged at times other than group use times. However, funerals take precedence over all other activities and as much notice as possible (a few days usually) will be given to the group leader that the premises may not be used by outside groups at these times.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the building.
Groups are responsible for all their equipment and personal possessions. The church will take no responsibility for loss or damage to such.
Leaving things clean
Group leaders are responsible for ensuring all rooms, including the kitchen and toilets, are left clean and tidy. The floor should be swept or mopped if anything has been spilt. Soiled nappies must be placed in a bag and put in the outside wheelie bin- not bins in the church.
Heating and lighting
Groups are asked not to adjust the heating thermostats; all lights should be switched off when leaving the building.
Crockery and refreshments
Groups may have the use of the crockery and kettles etc. Any breakages will be charged for ( where appropriate) . All food, milk bottles, etc must be removed after meetings (unless prior arrangements have been made with the church verger)
Non-church based groups that hire the space for private functions must have adequate insurance cover.
Child Protection and Vulnerable Adults
Where children and vulnerable adults are involved in groups those hiring the space are asked to provide evidence that they have relevant/current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service previously CRB ) checks in place, alongside a suitable child protection or vulnerable adults policy. If they do not have the policy they will be asked to adopt the relevant Parish policies.
Health and Safety
A copy of the health and safety policy is on display within the building and groups will be given relevant information regarding fire alarms, fire exits and evacuation assembly points. Contact information is displayed within the building should an incident occur.
Bookings for private functions by church members – £10.00 per hour.
Bookings by individuals/outside organisations – £12.00 per hour.
